Valley ForgeCasino is the only Category 3 casino taking part in online gambling. It’s online role is much bigger than its piece of the brick and mortar casino revenue too.
Thanks to its online sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, Valley Forge is the market leader in sports betting by a large margin. Now it has an online casino product, FanDuel Casino, to go along with the sportsbook. The casino exists within the sports betting app.

Valley Forge’s online casino platform
Valley Forge has long supported the idea of online gaming in Pennsylvania. Here is a look at the property’s strategic online partners:
- IGT, for online gaming platform design
- GAN, for player account functions and management
- GeoComply, for geolocation services
- Aristotle, for age and identity verification services
- FanDuel, for sports betting
Valley Forge Casino Reopening
IGT is a familiar name in the New Jersey market, but only as a game provider.
The GAN account software is featured in New Jersey at Oceans Online Casino and Betfair. Parx Casino also uses GAN for its Pennsylvania online casino product.
Boyd Gaming Corp owns Valley Forge Casino.
Valley Forge’s online casino bonuses and promos
We don’t know much about Valley Forge’s potential bonuses and promotions. It is likely that it will offer newregistrations a no-deposit bonus and then an initial deposit bonus.
While it is still up for debate whether or not Pennsylvania bonuses will match New Jersey’s due to the difference in slot-tax rate (54 percent versus 17 percent, respectively), there will be some form of bonus to have players try Valley Forge’s online offerings.
Valley Forge’s online casino banking
While payments can be tricky for online gaming sites, Valley Forge should offer plenty of options for players to deposit and withdraw.
Some of these options may include:
- ACH e-checks
- Cash at the Valley Forge cage
- MasterCard/Visa credit/debit cards
- Neteller
- PayNearMe at 7-Eleven locations
- PayPal
Valley Forge’s online gaming offerings
Slots
Despite the 54 percent slot-tax rate, we can expect slots to play a major role in Pennsylvania, especially at Valley Forge with IGT as a partner.
In New Jersey, IGT is one of the top game providers. It has hundreds of games to likely be featured at Valley Forge alongside slots from other top providers in the industry.
Some of IGT’s most popular games are:
- Cleopatra
- Monopoly
- Wheel of Fortune
- Wolf Run
Blackjack
IGT offers a slew of blackjack games across the New Jersey market. Players can expect to see the following at Valley Forge:
- Blackjack
- Blackjack with hot streak bonus
- Multi-hand blackjack
- Power blackjack
- Progressive blackjack
- Vegas blackjack
Roulette
With IGT as a partner, there will be no shortage of options for roulette. While Valley Forge will likely offer several variants of roulette, we can expect to see three staples: American, European, and French.
Americanroulette is much like the wheels at traditional US casinos, has a double zero.
Europeanroulette features a single zero and has better odds for the player.
The best odds are in Frenchroulette, which also features a single zero. In French roulette, players receive a 50 percent refund on their even money if “0” hits. The house edge in French roulette on outside bets is only 1.35 percent.
Some titles we can expect to see at Valley Forge’s online casino:
- American roulette
- European roulette
- French roulette
- Three-wheel roulette
- Double bonus spin roulette
- Triple bonus spin roulette
Other games
With the favorable tax rate and set precedence from New Jersey, we can expect to see some additional games at Valley Forge. These include:
- Keno
- Let It Ride
- No-commission baccarat
- Pai gow poker
- Virtual sports
- Video poker
Valley Forge’s online poker
Early rumors had Valley Forge partnered with bwin.Party, which would have hinted toward a partypoker/Valley Forge poker product. However, those rumors have proved false. We now know Valley Forge will be using IGT as a platform provider.
Valley Forge holds the full license suite and can be a player in the poker community despite not having a poker room on property. IGT created a poker product in 2016 that is said to be user-friendly and customizable. This would be an excellent opportunity for IGT’s poker product to make its grand US debut.
Valley Forge’s online sports betting
Valley Forge landed a partnership with one of the most recognized names in online sports betting, FanDuel. This partnership puts them in line to be the top provider of sportsbook in Pennsylvania.
Valley Forge Casino Restaurants
This past summer, European sportsbook powerhouse Paddy Power bought a controlling share of FanDuel. It quickly struck a partnership with Boyd Gaming to offer sports betting in the legal online market. This is an exciting partnership that should make waves in Pennsylvania.
The FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino launched shortly before March Madness in 2019. The online version of the book should go online in June or JUly.
Valley Forge’s online loyalty program
As mentioned above Valley Forge has partnered with GAN to provide account functions and player management.
It will likely employ a loyalty program catered to the Pennsylvania casino market. It’s also possible Valley Forge will integrate its loyalty program with its existing rewards program.
Valley Forge’s brick-and-mortar rewards program is called the ValleyClub. This program tracks players play and then rewards them with a variety of on-property perks. Many online casinos in New Jersey have successfully integrated their online and property programs.

Valley Forge Casino Resort is a casino in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia. Located in the King of Prussiacensus-designated place (CDP),[2] it was constructed on the existing site of the Valley Forge Convention Center and opened on March 31, 2012.[3] It is owned and operated by Boyd Gaming.
History[edit]
Valley Forge Plaza[edit]
The casino complex originated as a mixed-use development called Valley Forge Plaza, constructed by developer J. Leon Altemose.[4] The construction was highly controversial, because Altemose chose to use non-union workers. This led to protests by local union members, during one of which, on June 5, 1972, the construction site was firebombed.[5] The first structures in the complex were the circular tower of the Sheraton-Valley Forge Hotel, an adjoining twin-screen cinema, and the connected curved executive office tower directly to the east, which opened in September 1973.[6]
In 1985, Altemose constructed an enormous addition on the west side, which contained the Valley Forge Convention and Exhibition Center and a second hotel tower, which added 160 rooms to the Sheraton. In 1989, the newer western Sheraton hotel tower was converted to a separate hotel, the Radisson Hotel/Valley Forge.[7] In 1992, the Radisson Hotel/Valley Forge was converted to a second Sheraton hotel within the complex, the Sheraton Plaza Hotel. In 1997, the Sheraton Plaza Hotel was merged back into the Sheraton Valley Forge Hotel. In September 1999, the Sheraton Valley Forge was converted to the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel.[8] The western hotel tower was soon after converted to the Scanticon Valley Forge Hotel.
Casino conversion[edit]
In 2012, the complex was converted to the Valley Forge Casino Resort, and the Scanticon Valley Forge Hotel was converted to the Casino Tower wing of the resort, while the Radisson continued operating adjoining it. On March 31, 2012, Valley Forge Casino Resort became the 11th casino to operate in Pennsylvania. Back in 2009, rival casino Parx opposed the casino and challenged them in court, claiming that they did not meet the resort license requirements. The state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Valley Forge Casino.
The casino is the first in the state of Pennsylvania to be granted the Category 3 license by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. This type of license means the casino is intended to support the existing resort property, limits the number of table games and slots available, and has requirements for access to the gaming floor.[9] A Category 3 license also requires that anyone who wishes to gamble in the casino must either spend at least $10 elsewhere in the resort each visit or purchase a membership.[10] The $10 minimum was eliminated on October 27, 2017 with passage of new legislation. The casino currently is at the maximum number of slot machines, 600, and table games, 50, that is allowed at resort casinos. The casino has the option to add 15 tables for monthly poker or blackjack tournaments.
The casino was built for $130 million over the exhibition floor of the Valley Forge Convention Center. The convention center was built by J. Leon Altemose in 1985.[11]
In 2018, Boyd Gaming purchased the property for $281 million.[12]
On March 11, 2019, Valley Forge Casino Resort began offering sports betting at a sportsbook called the FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort with a two-day soft opening. An official opening for the sportsbook occurred on March 13, 2019, with former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek in attendance to place the first bet.[13][14] The FanDuel online sportsbook launched on July 29, 2019.[15]
In 2020, the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel was converted to the Valley Tower wing of the resort.
Overview[edit]
Valley Forge Casino Resort consists of 850 slot machines and 50 table games including Blackjack, Super 4 Blackjack, Craps, MiniBaccarat, Roulette, Spanish 21, Pai Gow, Pai Gow Poker, Three-Card Poker, Ulimate Texas Hold 'Em, and other assorted high limit table games. The casino is also home to the FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort, a sportsbook offering sports betting.
The Valley Forge Casino Resort has two hotel towers: the Casino Tower (formerly the Scanticon Valley Forge Hotel) and the Valley Tower (formerly the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel, originally the Sheraton Valley Forge Hotel), together offering 486 hotel rooms and suites. The Valley Forge Casino Resort has over 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2) of meeting, convention and exhibit space including the Valley Forge Convention Center. The complex also includes a spa, fitness center, and two stores (Valley Shop and Valley Style). The parking lot can accommodate 3,000 vehicles and has free valet parking every day.
The casino's rewards club program, Valley Club Rewards, has two levels, Valley Player and Valley Elite.
